Short But God

When we’re given everything to study with all the comfort and money, some of us would tend to ignore the reality that some other unfortunate ones face. This is an old story but certainly a rather enlightening one.

15 year old Indian teenager Jyoti Amge is the smallest girl in the world at a weight of 11lbs (around 5kg) and height of 1 ft 11 inch (around 58 cm). Below shows Jyoti with a neighbor’s 13 month old baby. She has a form of dwarfism called achodroplasia and will never grow any taller. Instead of being unhappy Jyoti is proud to be small and loves all the attention she is getting. People flock to see her and some even treated her like a goddess. Jyoti hopes that she could one day break into Bollywood as an actress.

Unfortunately, I heard the fact that people had started worshiping her as God. Another clear example of practicing Hinduism in a wrong way.She is born with defects. True. And she is learning to overcome the hurdles and live her life to the fullest. Whenever this type of things happen, some people will begin spreading rumors she is a reincarnation of God and so on. When will our people ever learn?

If this is the case, I wouldn’t be surprised one day if we start worshiping Snow White and ‘The Seven Dwarfs’.
